LIFE could become a little bit easier for shift-working parents in the Caboolture area, thanks to Caboolture All Hours Childcare.

Leisha Chapman has launched a 24-hour child care service to relieve some stress for busy parents.

"There's a big gap there because there's a lot of shift workers, there's a lot of single parents these days,” Leisha said.

"Even in family day care, a lot of people I've spoken to since kicking off said Family Day Care providers, although that's what they were designed for, they're not wanting to do the long hours.”

With more than 20 years experience and three children of her own, Leisha is focused on providing a flexible, fun and educational environment for young children.

"As a stand alone provider I don't have to put full programs in place but I am still focused on education for little ones,” she said.

"When you bring a child into your home they should be part of your family, and they'll have the option to engage in the things that my son is doing as well.

"There's options that the kids can still participate in sports with my son that they might not have been able to do because their parents are committed at work.”

Caboolture All Hours Childcare specialises in after school, over night and weekend care for children from the age of six months to 12 years, and is believed to be the only one of its kind in the area.

"I've only been advertising for a few weeks and I'm getting a lot of enquiry so there's obviously a lot of need out there for it,” Leisha said.

Leisha decided to return to child care so she could spend more time at home with her youngest son.

"It's relaxed and it's flexible to the kids needs - the intimate setting allows me to nurture the individual needs of each child, and be at home with my own.”

The cost is $10 per hour for each child - meals can be provided for additional cost and pick up is available from some schools.

Leisha is a registered carer for the purpose of Child Care Benefit but unlike child care centres and Family Day Care, parents will need to pay the full fees and then claim the CCB portion back from Centrelink themselves
