FROM free online shopping sessions to morning and afternoon teas, there will be plenty happening at Coast libraries during Seniors Week from August 19-27.

In recognition of the contribution seniors make to our community, council has partnered with a range of providers to help highlight Seniors Week 2017 - Celebrating a Queensland for All Ages.

Community Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said libraries were the perfect place to be during Seniors Week.

"I encourage our young-at-heart members to join in the celebrations happening across the Coast,” Cr McKay said.

"Our free Online Shopping for Seniors sessions, presented by technology business consultants Smile IT, will demystify the world of online shopping.

"Using sites such as eBay or Gumtree is a great way to buy and sell goods or promote a small business. At this session, seniors will learn how to set up an account, purchase online and use PayPal.

"And, of course, Seniors Week celebrations would not be complete without a morning or afternoon tea.”

Due to popular demand, the "As I Age” interactive modular chalk boards will return to Kawana and Kenilworth libraries, providing an opportunity for seniors to join in a conversation by writing statements and thoughts about the journey of ageing.

Other activities include technology help, got the grant, the launch of the Nambour Soundtrail and basic bike maintenance sessions across the region.

All library events are free and bookings are essential via council's library website.
